Feeding, Awareness, Cleanliness and Employment

FEEDING, AWARENESS, CLEANLINESS AND EMPLOYMENT {FACE}PROGRAM

Being a community based organization, and our majority targeted audience being the people in ghettos and slums, Training and Awareness goes a long way in leading the youths in such areas away from radicalisation and extremism and also their parents and adults to actively ensure this.
However, in these areas which most are considered hot spots for radicalisation, most people are poverty stricken and they would opt for looking for employment or keeping busy to earn their daily bread, to taking an hour to be trained on Radicalisation and Extremism.
In addition, these areas through our evidence based research have been found to be the dirtiest, not only in Kenya, but world-wide. It is the duty of the county government to provide cleaning services to the local communities, and by law, the individuals and organizations who do this cleaning must be paid for the services rendered.
It’s because of these reasons that we want to introduce the FACE program, where we first educate the community on civic resilience and other issues facing the community. After that, we do communal cleaning which the county government can pay the youths doing so, as opposed to paying other individuals who do not stay in that community to do the same work. Then after, as the team in that community, we can all share a common meal.
This can be carried out per ward or in unison at county level.

                BENEFIT OF THE FACE PROGRAM

  •     Youths get an opportunity to earn an income by community service cleaning which they are paid to do.
  •     We get to have a clean community which in turn reduces cases of disease caused by dirt and bad hygiene.
  •     We get to have an enlightened community that cannot harbor radicals, extremists or any other social misfits, because they understand the dangers of doing so.
  •     We get to reduce insecurity by almost minimal, because the community is knowledgeable on communal resilience and the youths have jobs, which is usually the leading factor to insecurity when none are available.
  •     We get to have a constant growing audience that get Trained on various topics and civic duties facing them and the country, therefore a more informed community.
  •     We get to feed even individuals who cannot afford daily meals.
